Polarity therapy is a form of bodywork based on the human energy field. Energy fields exist everywhere in nature, and polarity therapy believes that the flow and balance of energy in the human body is the foundation of good health. When energy is unbalanced or blocked due to stress or other factors, pain and disease may arise. Practitioners of polarity therapy seek to balance and restore the flow of energy which is believed to enter the body through the chakras. Polarity therapy incorporates energy bodywork with gentle or firm touch and rocking, which are used to clear any blockages and result in a release of holding patterns in the body, mind, and soul. This release should bring the client a sense of deep relaxation, relief from specific symptoms, clarity, or new insight.
